Next, spend a further day at sea before calling at Trinidad where you can experience local life with excursions to Manaca Iznaga Sugar Cane Plantation and a brief tour of the local art scene. Continue to Cienfuegos, known as Cuba’s ‘Pearl of the South’, before sailing to Maria la Gorda, one of the largest nature reserves in the country and home to some of its greatest diving sites. Conclude your Cuban adventure with a trip to its capital Havana, a vibrant city of great contrasts, both old and new, before returning back to Miami. Day 1: Miami
Arrive in Miami, Florida for the start of your tour of Cuba. In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Reception with an informative talk of your upcoming voyage.
Day 2 & 3: At sea
Spend two days sailing towards Cuba with an array of informative guest talks about the island, ranging from culture to history. What’s more, guests can enjoy exquisite food and free flowing drinks throughout their voyage.
Day 4 & 5: Santiago de Cuba
Upon arrival in Santiago de Cuba, the birthplace of the Cuban Revolution, behalf the mighty Cathedral of Santiago. Throughout your two day stop in this magnificent city, enjoy visits to Casa del Caribe and a whole host of experiences offering insight to Afro-Cuban religions and folklore, as part of your people-to-people experience.
Day 6: At Sea
Spend a further day at sea as you sail towards Trinidad, complete with enrichment lectures, great hospitality and cuisine.
Day 7 & 8: Trinidad
Begin your people-to-people tour by exploring the Colonial history of the city of Trinidad. Visit Manaca Iznaga Sugar Cane Plantation before discovering the delightful art history of the city with a meeting with the Santander family, reknowned for their clay pottery. Other stops include Pincelada Colonial Cuban Art Gallery and the Museo Romantico.
Day 9 & 10: Cienfuegos
Upon arrival to Cuba’s ‘Pearl of the South’ explore its colonnaded city center and bay side elegance before heading toward Jose Marti park for the Toma Terry Theater with gold-leaf mosaics and ceiling frescoes. Later a coach will escort you to Playa Giron, otherwise known as the Bay of Pigs to visit a local museum, offering a Cuban perspective on this well known event.
Day 11: At sea
Day 12: Maria la Gorda
Sail towards Maria la Gorda on Cuba’s westernmost tip, a haven for nature lovers and a UNESCO biosphere reserve. The region boasts some of the countries best dive sights and here, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with naturalists and locals.
Day 13: At sea
Day 14 & 15: Havanaa
Complete your tour in the buzzing capital of Havana, visiting a multitude of sights including Old Havana, Plaza san Francisco, Plaza de Armas and Plaza de la Revolución. You’ll also have a unique experience watching a dress rehearsal of ‘Havana Queens’ a cabaret combining classical ballet, flamenco and modern rumba and salsa. On the final day, pay homage to one of the city’s most famous resident’s Ernest Hemingway, with a visit to his home Finca Vigia, where he wrote many of his novels.
Day 16: Miami
