If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful place to stay with great access to the cultural delights of Santa Clara, you won’t go wrong with Horizontes Villa Los Caneyes hotel.
Los Caneyes is a beautifully appointed hotel, developed on an indigenous indian theme with lots of ornate carvings & cabins with thatched roofs. The manicured grounds are full of colourful flowers, as well as rabbits, geese & chickens that add to the charming rustic feel.
The whole complex at Los Caneyes is spotless & well kept, with a nice pool & patio area where you will find lots of quality loungers. In addition to the daytime & evening entertainment around the pool, there is a games room, gym & beauty parlour.
The staff at Horizontes Los Caneyes hotel are very friendly & serve good quality food & drink from the large buffet restaurant & poolside bar, which also serves tasty snacks. There is also a decent variety of food in the buffet restaurant.
Villa Los Caneyes seems designed to promote peace, tranquillity & oneness with nature but the serenity of the place can be disturbed by music from the pool. However, if you want somewhere peaceful & comfortable that is close to the bustling city of Santa Clara, you won’t find a better place than hotel Horizontes Villa Los Caneyes.

Details of Standard Room
The standard rooms at Villa Los Caneyes are housed in cabana-like huts, in keeping with the rustic style of the rest of the complex, where you will also find attractive carvings.
All rooms are ensuite with air conditioning, fridge & satellite TV. They are clean, colourful & spacious though some can be a little tired. A nice touch is the old Cuban rocking chair on the terrace of each bungalow, perfect for hot lazy days & balmy nights. If you prefer a quiet area of the hotel, ask for a room in the gardens.
A buzzing provincial town, with a pleasant Parque Central, Santa Clara is most famous for its connection with Che Guevara, whose attack on a Batista troop train in the city in December 1958 helped persuade the dictator that his days were numbered. This provincial capital is well worth visiting, beyond the suburbs you'll find a buzzing place with streets lively with people going about their daily lives, and the city benefits from having a large student population. The centre seems well looked after and relatively litter-free. A startling sight to anyone arriving from Havana. There are some interesting museums worth taking in and the small brick red-tiled houses lend themselves to an atmosphere of calm and discretion. For most people the area Parque Vidal is the most eventful place in the city, as well as being the geographical heart of the city, it is also its social centre and there is usually some sort of entertainment going on at weekends. A monument marks the spot where revolutionary hero Leoncio Vidal was killed , and benches line the promenades that cross and circle the park. On the plaza's north.
